More than just March Madness this Month

After all the cold weather, we’re sure everyone is ready for the spring temperatures heading our way. We kicked off the new season with a walking tour and tasting of Alexandria’s Historic Breweries in Old Town.

If you missed it, join us this Sunday for a Book Talk and Beer Tasting hosted by local historian, Garrett Peck. The talk centers around American poet, Walt Whitman and the Civil War. Followed by a tasting of two of our pre-Prohibition beers, the Portner Porter and Tivoli Cream Ale, plus a short walking tour of Wales Alley, named after Andrew Wales the first brewer in Alexandria and DC. Garrett’s sixth book will be available for purchase and signing.

Don’t miss this Sunday’s free event from 2-4pm at the Athenaeum in Old Town.

And if you did miss the Alexandria’s Historic Breweries Walking Tour & Tasting, keep your eyes out for our next one in May. In the meantime, crack open a good craft brew to toast Robert Portner for his 178th birthday on Friday and grab a corn dog for National Corn Dog Day on Saturday, March 21 for some awesome weekend beer events!
