Take a Walking Tour/Pub Crawl of Alexandria’s Historic Breweries

Many people find themselves at the local watering hole on the night before Thanksgiving. Whether they have traveled across the country or from the next town over, there is just something about getting together with family and friends out of the house that is the the perfect kick-off to the big meal, the big game and Black Friday.

Cover Page - Alexandria Walking Tour BrochureThis year consider wandering around Old Town Alexandria for a brew and discovering the City’s rich brewing history with the first edition of Alexandria’s Historic Breweries – Walking Tour & Pub Guide in hand. The free 15-page brochure is available at the Alexandria Visitor’s Center – The Ramsey House (221 King Street) and all of the participating “Hops Stops” along the way.

Learn more on Tuesday, December 2nd at the Morrison House Hotel (116 Alfred Street) from 6-8 pm. Local historian and walking tour author, Garrett Peck will share more about the 19 historic sites and 15 “Hops Stops” highlighted in the brochure as part of the Torpedo Factory’s Morrison House Presents series (cost: free, seating is limited).

All in attendance will receive a free copy of the walking tour and pub guide and learn about a chance to join Garrett and Portner Brewhouse Co-Founder, Catherine Portner, on a free guided tour and pub crawl in later that month.
