Our Picks for #CBC13 Week Events

#CBC13 or otherwise known as the Craft Brewers Conference is coming into town at the end of the month and bringing with it the best week of beer events this year! With so many to choose from, we compiled a short list of our top choices featuring a variety of beer havens and showcased breweries around town.

Sunday, March 24th: An Investment & Tasting Affair – Portner Brewhouse
Arlington, VA 2 – 4 pm (FREE Admission)

Join our Taste Test Team & receive an invitation to our upcoming event featuring three of our reconstructed pre-Prohibition lagers and ales – Hofbrau Pilsner, Vienna Cabinet Lager & Portner porter accompanied by tasty morsels and sweet pairings. Learn how you can join the Portner Brewhouse team as a initial investor overlooking the DC skyline.

Monday, March 25th: 3rd Annual East Coast vs West Coast Punk Rock Brew Tour – Meridian Pint – 7 pm-Midnight Downstairs (FREE Admission)

A beer and music event features a soundtrack of punk and hardcore paired with great craft-brewed beer. East Coast represented by Smuttynose Brewing Company, Victory Brewing Company and Sixpoint Brewing Company vs Team West Coast of Lagunitas Brewing Company, Ballast Point Brewing Company, Oskar Blues Brewing Company and Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. Get your beer and beer-making questions answered by the brewers and representatives themselves while rampaging to a hardcore soundtrack. Who wins? You decide! This event overlaps with Wild Ales with Leelanau Brewing & Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales taking place upstairs.

Tuesday, March 26th: The Smoking Gun – Flying Dog Cigar Pairings       Jack Rose Dining Saloon, Adams Morgan, DC 7 pm 

This is a unique chance to try four styles of Flying Dog beers paired with 4 cigars from W. Curtis Draper Tobacconist! Yes, you read that right. Try Flying Dog brewhouse rarities and limited release beers including Bloodline Blood Orange IPA along with DC themed pairings of “The Oval Office,” “The Blue Dress,” “The Starr Report” and “Zippergate.”

Wednesday, March 27th: The Draft Magazine Mash-In                                  Smith Commons, H Street Corridor, DC 7-10 pm FREE (RSVP required

Friday, March 29th: Oskar Blues Presents “Dale’s Dirty Dozen”
Scion, Dupont Circle, DC 5 pm (FREE Admission) 

Meet Oskar Blues Brewery founder Dale Katechim, bringing a slew of OB beers with him – not only are there 11 drafts, but a special cask of oSKAr the G’Rauch, a smoked IPA brewed in collaboration with Ska Brewing Company. Many of these beers are limited one-offs that rarely make it out of Colorado! Featured beers are specially priced for the event.
